The immune boosting properties of turmeric have been enjoyed for thousands of years in Indian and Chinese medicine.
Brewing some turmeric tea is considered the most effective way of taking this healing spice. Turmeric can help boost immune systems, reduce inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and has many more documented health benefits.
INGREDIENTS:
- Enough water for two cups
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon honey lemon to taste
TO MAKE: Boil the water in a small pan before adding turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon. Reduce the heat and simmer for a further ten minutes. Strain the tea into a cup or glass and stir in the honey and lemon.
COOKS’ TIP: Turmeric stains! Have a tea towel to hand and be careful in case it drips. Maple syrup can replace the honey of course.
