Organic cashew nuts come from a cashew tree that traditionally grows in Brazil and India. However, the nuts have been used across the world for centuries.

The small, almost banana-shaped nuts are pale in colour and have a mellow, nutty sweetness. They have a creamy texture and can be split, chopped, crumbled, and seasoned for both sweet and savoury dishes. Read on for the best organic cashews, their benefits, and ways to eat raw cashew nuts.

The best organic cashews

We adore cashew nuts. So much, in fact, that we’ve created a variety of different cashews to suit every meal, mood and preference. Here are the best cashews:

Our organic whole raw cashews have been mindfully picked to give you premium-quality taste and texture. Feel them crumble as you gently bite into the soft, buttery goodness. We’ve kept these organic unsalted cashews plain and simple. No extras added, just their natural flavour.

Store a jar of whole cashews in your pantry to dip into when you’re feeling peckish. Add plain cashews to a trail mix or lightly sprinkle them with rock salt and cracked black pepper for sophisticated and subtle seasoning.

These raw cashews have been gently split down the centre to reveal the smooth inside. The equal pieces are easier to bite into, making a satisfying snap.

The flat underside of split cashews makes them ideal for topping desserts, scattering over plain yoghurt, or stirring into curries. Buy organic raw cashew pieces bulk (up to 1kg) to stock your cupboard.

Nibble on the high-protein snack of sweet, crunchy cashews coated in shredded coconut. They make the perfect duo for a healthy snack with light sweetness. Alternatively, put them on top of your breakfast porridge for a topical fling or mix them into a smoothie bowl for a nutty crunch.

They also make great little gifts for friends. Pop a handful of coconut-roasted cashews into a mini gift bag for a thoughtful pick-me-up. Or create a nutty pick'n'mix and combine them with our dark chocolate cashews (more on those below).

We’ve dipped cashews into silky melted dark chocolate and cocoa butter. Each chocolate-coated cashew has then been left to harden for a convenient treat. Snap through the luxurious dark chocolate coating into the creamy cashew beneath.

They make an excellent health treat when you're feeling peckish. You can also share them with friends and family alongside a soothing cup of coffee.

Organic roasted salted cashews are incredibly moreish. The mellow, nutty sweetness of the cashews complements the zippy salt coating for a vitamin-packed snack. Eat them as they are, or add them to curries for a salty crunch. You can also mix them with our dark chocolate cashews to hit your bitter, sweet and salty taste buds all in one go.

We’ve delicately roasted whole cashews in golden honey for a delectable sweetness. These organic honey-roasted cashews taste divine. You can combine them with plain yoghurt or mix them into porridge.

Why not eat a couple alongside coconut-coated and dark chocolate cashews for the ultimate luxury experience? Not only do they hit the sweet spot, but you’re also getting vitamins B6 and K and the minerals iron and magnesium for energy and better sleep.

These organic dry-roasted cashews are perfect when autumn is around the corner (and even when it isn’t). Appreciate the spicey-sweetness of heartwarming cinnamon and the subtle golden hint of honey.

We like sprinkling these cinnamon and honey roasted cashews onto porridge drizzled with maple syrup or adding them as a crunchy topping to yoghurt or melt-in-the-mouth ice cream.

You could even go one step further and mix them with a few pieces of cinder block toffee for the ultimate treat.

What are organic sprouted cashews?

Sprouted cashews are when the nut has germinated, and they’re also called activated cashews. A tiny sprout grows from the raw cashew nut and can have additional nutritional benefits.

How to sprout raw cashew nuts at home

To sprout organic cashew nuts at home, you must soak whole, plain, and unroasted cashew nuts in a couple of inches of warm water. After 10 hours, drain the nuts, cover them in fresh water, and repeat every 12 hours for about 2 days. Once they sprout, keep them in the fridge and eat them within a week.

Although this can be fun, remember that eating un-sprouted raw cashew nuts has just as many benefits.
