Popcorn

Popcorn is a corn kernel that expands when heated and makes a popping sound, earning the name ‘popcorn.’ It’s a low-calorie and fibrous snack with a light golden brown appearance and a soft, chewy texture. The grain is plain when popped but usually has an added sweet or salty coating.

Popcorn is often associated with going to the cinema and film nights because it’s easy to produce, budget-friendly and doesn’t make loud crunching noises when you eat it. It’s also extremely morish, making it the perfect treat to dive into during the tense parts of movies!

Popping corn

Make your own popcorn with our premium-grade corn kernel. Heat a small amount of oil in a large saucepan and add popping corn. Cover the saucepan with a lid and heat. 

Next is the fun part. The kernels will start popping and bouncing around inside the pan, so keep that lid on. Gradually, the popping noise will slow, and once it’s stopped, you can remove the lid and enjoy fresh, warm popcorn straight from the pan.

You can also flavour your popcorn. Here are a few ideas:

• Sugar
• Salt
• Sugar and salt
• Butter
• Cinnamon sugar
• Coat in melted hazelnut chocolate, then put in the fridge to harden
• Spicey blend
• Rosemary
• Smoked paprika
• Barbeque seasoning
